Ticket from LeBron's record-breaking game could fetch over $5K at auction
A fan who witnessed LeBron James break the NBA’s all-time scoring record in person last season is set to cash in on their ticket.
Heritage Auctions opened bidding this week on a $92 ticket stub from the Los Angeles Lakers’ Feb. 7 matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder, during which James broke Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s all-time scoring record of 38,387 career points.
Bidding on the stub is currently at $2,100, and experts at the auction house estimate that it could sell for over $5,000.
Heritage Auctions director of sports auctions Chris Ivy previously told TMZ that he believes James’ game-worn jersey from the Feb. 7 contest could fetch $3 million should it ever hit the auction block.
Abdul-Jabbar’s scoring record stood for nearly 40 years before James surpassed the mark with a 38-point performance against the Thunder. Abdul-Jabbar was in attendance for the historic feat and shared a moment on the court with James.
